What is this retreat about?
A welcoming, cosy retreat in the mountains — gentle trails, shared meals, wagging tails, and the simple joy of spending time together with your Dachshund in beautiful Zermatt.
It’s also a special weekend for anyone who would love to capture meaningful memories.
A professional mountain photographer will be with us to create natural, beautiful portraits of you and your Dachshund — photos that truly shine against the backdrop of the Matterhorn, and that you’ll treasure forever.
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is for anyone who loves their Dachshund and wants to spend a cosy, heartwarming weekend in the mountains.
It’s perfect for people who enjoy gentle walks, good food and drinks, relaxed moments, and meeting other kind Dachshund-loving humans. No special fitness or hiking experience needed — just a love for nature and your four-legged companion.
Why in Zermatt?
Because Zermatt feels like a small alpine world made for moments of joy - a place for you and your four-legged companion(s).
The quiet trails, the charming restaurants, the warm village atmosphere, and the ever-present Matterhorn create an environment where life slows down and connection becomes easy — for humans and dogs alike.
What does the program look like?
The Cloud9 Matterhorn Dachshund Retreat is designed to be warm, gentle, and joyful — with plenty of time outdoors, cosy meals, relaxed moments, and opportunities to connect with other Dachshund families. Please see here for a more detailed program.
Why Cloud9?
Because Cloud9 creates retreats that feel warm, personal, and full of heart. Every moment is designed so both you and your Dachshund feel welcome, relaxed, and gently cared for.
Cloud9’s founder is a dog lover herself — which means this retreat isn’t just an idea, but a true heart project. She understands the bond, the sweetness, the little quirks, and the joy these dogs bring. And she has shaped every detail with that same love.
With deep local knowledge of Zermatt, Cloud9 chooses the most dog-friendly trails, the cosiest restaurants, and the viewpoints that turn simple moments into beautiful memories — always with the Matterhorn watching over you.
It’s a retreat created with kindness, care, and the simple joy of spending meaningful time together in the mountains.

Sarah Inkinen-Fritz
Sarah Inkinen-Fritz - Founder Cloud9
Sarah is the heart behind the Cloud9 Matterhorn Dachshund Retreat — and a dog lover herself.
Her cavalier, Bijou, is four years old and named after Sarah’s place in Zermatt. Bijou has brought Sarah and her husband countless moments of joy, calm, and connection — and is a big inspiration for creating this retreat. For Sarah, this is not just a business idea. It’s a personal, heartfelt project.
Zermatt has been Sarah’s happy place for many years. She knows its peaceful paths, its cosy restaurants, and the quiet corners that open up to the Matterhorn in the most magical way. Bringing Cavaliers and their families into this alpine world felt like a natural extension of her love for the mountains and for her dog.
Professionally, Sarah spent over a decade working in fast-paced, multicultural teams in the pharmaceutical world. These years taught her the importance of slowing down, creating warm and welcoming spaces, and helping people feel connected — to themselves and to each other.
Her personal life is also shaped by emotion and presence: she is married to a professional musician and has seen how deeply music can support wellbeing and connection.
All of this flows into the Cloud9 retreats she creates — simple, warm, gently curated experiences that help people reconnect with nature, with others, and with their own inner calm.
The Matterhorn Dachshund Retreat is, in many ways, her love letter to the mountains, to community, and to the dogs who make life happier.
