Frequently Asked Questions
About Cloud9 Experiences
-
Cloud9 creates boutique alpine retreats and corporate offsites in Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn. We design unhurried experiences that bring people together - away from the noise, back to what matters. Whether it's a leadership team or a circle of friends, the intention is the same: space to slow down, reconnect, and come up for air.
-
We're in Zermatt, Switzerland, beneath the Matterhorn. Our experiences unfold in and around the village and the mountains that surround it.
-
Three broad strands: corporate offsites and leadership retreats for teams; wellness and nature retreats for individuals and small groups; and private celebrations for the moments worth gathering for. We also run Paws & Peaks, our retreats for dog lovers and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
-
We're deliberately small. Every experience is held with quiet intention rather than packed with activity - the value is in the presence, not the itinerary. The thread running through everything is connection: bringing the right people together, in a setting that lets them be fully there. We live in Zermatt since almost 10 years and it’s become the home of choice, where the heart wanted to settle.
-
Cloud9 was founded by Sarah Inkinen-Fritz, who spent years in the pharma industry connecting people across complex, matrixed organisations before turning that gift into something of her own. The name comes from her own spontaneous Zermatt wedding — a day of happiness so complete there was only one word for it. You can read the full story on our About page.
Corporate Off-sites & Leadership Retreats
-
A tailored programme designed around your team's goals, in a setting that does half the work for you. Typically this spans accommodation, curated meals, facilitated sessions, and time in nature — the balance of structure and space adjusted to what your team actually needs.
-
Yes, this is the heart of what we do. Whether you're working toward alignment, trust, strategy, or simply reconnection after a stretch apart, we shape the experience around the outcome you're after rather than a fixed template.
-
We work with experienced facilitators and can bring in the right partner for your goals, from leadership and team development to specific frameworks. We can also work alongside your own facilitators if you prefer.
-
We're built for boutique groups rather than large conferences, small enough that everyone is genuinely present. Up to 15 people. Request separately for other formats.
-
Most run over two to three days. We'll advise on the right length once we understand your objectives.
-
Yes, we've run off-sites for corporate teams and are happy to share references and a case study on request. EY pilot

Pricing depends on group size, length, accommodation, and programme. Tell us your needs and we'll prepare a proposal.
Retreat & Wellness Experiences
-
For anyone looking to step out of the everyday — whether you're navigating a transition, craving stillness, or simply want time in the mountains with like-minded people. Some retreats are themed around leadership or wellbeing; others around nature and connection.
-
A gentle rhythm rather than a packed schedule: time to move, time to reflect, shared meals, and space to simply be. The exact shape varies by retreat, but the intention is always room to breathe.
-
Most experiences are accessible to a range of fitness levels, with options to do more or less. [Confirm any retreats with specific physical requirements.] If you're unsure whether a particular retreat suits you, just ask.
-
Absolutely. Many guests join solo — our retreats are designed to feel welcoming and unintimidating, and connection often happens naturally over shared time.
-
Curated meals are part of most experiences. [Confirm what's included.] We're happy to accommodate dietary requirements — just let us know in advance.
Paws & Peaks (Retreats for Dog Lovers)
-
Paws & Peaks is our sub-brand for dog lovers — alpine retreats you can share with your four-legged companion, created especially with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel community in mind.
-
Paws & Peaks grew out of a love for Cavaliers, and these retreats are tailored to small, sociable dogs. If you have a different breed and are wondering whether it's a fit, get in touch.
-
Dog-friendly accommodation and experiences designed so your companion is part of the trip, not an afterthought.
Getting There & Staying
-
Zermatt is car-free, which is part of its magic. You'll travel the final stretch by train — most guests arrive via Täsch, where you park and take the short shuttle into the village. We'll send detailed travel guidance once you book.
-
We partner with carefully chosen hotels in and around Zermatt to match the feel of each experience.
-
Each season offers something different — summer for blossom, hiking, and long light; autumn for crisp clarity; winter for snow and stillness. We can advise on the right window for what you're hoping to experience.
-
We'll send a tailored packing note ahead of each experience, but in general: layers, good footwear, and a willingness to slow down.
