M’s 70th Birthday

Off we go to Zermatt — one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland! Over 2 unforgettable days, we’ll celebrate M’s 70th Birthday in style: surrounded by alpine scenery, hiking along breathtaking trails, relaxing in cozy mountain huts and just enjoying every moment together.

Day 1 - 25th July 2026

Welcome-Apéro in Zermatt & Celebration Lunch at Chez Vrony

After your scenic train ride and arrival to Zermatt, we meet at 12:00 at the Kirchplatz for a Welcome-Apéro at Elsie’s Wine&Champagne Bar to start our celebration journey. 

Our destination is the traditional mountain restaurant Chez Vrony in Findeln, a dreamy place at 2’100m altitude with breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. There are 2 options to reach the place:

  1. By the Sunnegga Express Funicular up to Sunnegga station from which it is a pleasant 20-30 minute walk downhill through the hamlet of Findeln to Chez Vrony.

  2. Alternatively, if you’re more adventurous and enjoy hiking, you can join a beautiful hike from Zermatt to Findeln which will take about an hour and a half in summer. We will start our hike at 12:30pm from Elsie’s Bar and will arrive at Chez Vrony around 2:30pm. 

(Please note that both groups, 1. and 2. will be guided, so you can just relax and follow your lead to the destination).

We will be welcomed by Vrony, Max and their team, who are the perfect hosts, glowing with genuine warmth and hospitality. We will spend some unforgettable, happy and culinary moments with local produced foods and wines and with a breathtaking view to the Matterhorn.

At around 5pm, we will slowly make our way back to Zermatt. You can either hike up to Sunnegga and take the train down or go directly down from Chez Vrony to the village, wich will take approximately 45min to an hour. The evening is free - and you can do what you feel like. Enjoy dinner, relax at the spa, or wander through Zermatt’s charming streets.

Day 2 - 26th July 2026

Easy Hike & Farewell-Lunch at Blatten

After a restful night and breakfast, we will meet back at Kirchplatz at 11am for an  easy hike to the Mountain Restaurant Blatten. The restaurant is easily accessible on foot: an idyllic hiking trail leads through the beautiful mountain landscape to the restaurant in about 40 minutes.

Since the mid-1800s, Blatten has embodied Zermatt’s spirit of hospitality. What began as a humble tea house run by the Julen family has evolved into a cherished mountain restaurant, blending tradition with understated elegance. Every day, xxx and their team prepare fresh products, with much respect and love. During summer their gardens offer a rich variety of organic grown herbs, vegetables and green salads. A visit to Blatten is more than a meal — it’s a taste of Zermatt’s living history.

At around 2pm, we will make our way back to Zermatt from where you can start your way back home, with a heart full of beautiful memories.
