A welcoming, cosy retreat in the mountains — gentle trails, shared meals, wagging tails, and the simple joy of spending time together with your Cavalier in beautiful Zermatt. It’s also a special weekend for anyone who would love to capture beautiful memories. A professional mountain photographer will be with us to create portraits of you and your Cavalier — photos that truly shine against the backdrop of the Matterhorn, and that you’ll treasure forever.

This retreat is for anyone who loves their Cavalier(s) and wants to spend a cosy, culinary and heartwarming weekend in the mountains.
It’s perfect for people who enjoy gentle walks, good food, relaxed moments, and meeting other kind cavalier-loving humans. No special fitness or hiking experience needed — just a love for nature and your four-legged companion.

With local knowledge of Zermatt, Cloud9 chooses the most dog-friendly trails, the cosiest restaurants, and the viewpoints that turn simple moments into beautiful memories — always with the Matterhorn watching over you. As this is the first edition of the Matterhorn Cavalier Retreat, we are offering a special introductory price of CHF 1’300 per person (regular price CHF 1’900). For guests sharing a room, a reduced rate is available for the accompanying person, making it easy to join the experience together. Please reach out for more details.

2-3 days of a curated Matterhorn Cavalier Retreat
Guided gentle walks and hikes and mountain train included on Saturday
Professional mountain photographer for portraits of you and your Cavalier (photography and 2 pictures of your choice included)
Accommodation in a cosy, dog-loving boutique hotel including breakfast (Hotel ZERMAMA, Zermatt)
Welcome dinner on Fri evening, lunch on saturday - restaurants are carefully selected and represent Zermatt’s most sought after places (including Chez Vrony). You can book an optional lunch for sunday too.

Who is Sarah Inkinen-Fritz?
Sarah is the founder of Cloud9 and the heart behind the Matterhorn Cavalier Retreat. Her cavalier, Bijou, is four years old and named after Sarah’s place in Zermatt. Bijou has brought her and her husband countless moments of joy, calm, and connection — and is a big inspiration for creating this retreat. For Sarah, this is not just a business idea - it’s a personal, heartfelt project.
Zermatt has been Sarah’s happy place for many years. She knows its peaceful paths, its cosy restaurants, and the quiet corners that open up to the Matterhorn in the most magical way. Bringing Cavaliers and their families into this alpine world felt like a natural extension of her love for the mountains and for her dog.
Professionally, Sarah spent nearly two decades working in fast-paced, multicultural teams in the pharmaceutical world. These years taught her the importance of slowing down, creating warm and welcoming spaces, and helping people feel connected — to themselves and to each other.
All of this shapes the Cloud9 retreats she creates: thoughtfully curated and welcoming, with a focus on nature, connection, and time together. The Matterhorn Cavalier Retreat is, in many ways, her love letter to the mountains, to community, and to the Cavaliers who make life more happy.
